Exploring the year that was
Luminate has become an annual tradition here at Unios – a reflection on the year that was, at a glance. As the 2010's come to a close, it would be an underestimation to say the lighting industry has seen more significant change in the last decade than the previous fifty combined. 2019 bookmarks a decade of technological revolution for the industry. With a national touring pop-up event, six new product ranges and a Telstra Business Award, it's been a remarkable year. Before we jump into a new decade, let's reflect on the year that was 2019.
Define: A Pop-up Success
5 cities. 900 guests. 6 product ranges. Define was an ambitious event as a touring showroom set up in warehouses across the country. Designed as the antithesis to a traditional trade show, gone are the days of cold convention centres and bright white lights. Configured like a series of museum exhibits, industry leaders from around the country experienced a exhibition that is changing the perception of what a lighting show can be.

Product Highlights: Comfort & Well-being
2019 continued our emphasis towards comfort, well-being and consistency. The six new product ranges that launched this year are a result of a considered approach to increase our capabilities to influence the comfort and health of building occupants. The Particle Downlight Series and Scope Spotlight Series are highly flexible ranges with narrow optics that can deliver localised lighting with minimal glare. The Cast Linear Light and Iris Wall Light improve visual comfort and light uniformity with their indirect light output and versatile lumen packages.

This year also saw the launch of the Unios G2 Phase-Cut Driver. Compliant with the IEEE 1789 'No Observable Effect' standard, our G2 Phase-Cut Driver will help prevent known potential adverse health effects with its flicker-free feature. This new driver offers flicker-free operation, an improved dimming range and long term reliability for your next project.
